My vintage HiFi journey began in 1972 when today’s vintage was contemporary. As a wide eyed 12yr. old (as often as possible) Visiting all the HiFi shops to ogle at all the new Pioneer, Marantz, Sansui, JVC. Kenwood, Carver and Technics. combined with JBL, KLH, AR, Ohm, ESS and other high quality loudspeakers and other vintage gear from days past. Including multiple musical instruments and most equipment for recording studios or bands!
My teenage budget realities resulted in a purchase of a used receiver from Radio-Shack combined with a set of junk speakers from the local dump. However an oath was made and honored. Fast forward decades later after a lengthy education then becoming a full time technician for the State. I have the good fortune of frequently acquiring multiple pieces of vintage HiFi equipment on a monthly basis. Then comparing testing and restoring them when needed. I am always 1000% committed to enthusiastically sharing my passion for vintage HiFi systems with you all my fellows and friends. I’m happy to share with you my newest find from a local Florida collector.
A Very nice Yamaha 1000 amplifier in excellent working condition with a single owner and good history. Look at pictures and see that all lights work and it’s in better then most for sale on the marketplace. It’s in excellent condition with only some minor imperfections. I’m using it now to power my home system and quite pleased with its build quality and incredible performance with virtually zero distortion. At 260 wpc times three channels it’s a beast. I have 1 matching Yamaha pre amplifier CX-2 For sale. Also big black 777 series Yamaha tower speakers!
