Thorens 160 Super Turntable w/ Linn Ittok LVII: A highly-regarded vintage Swiss/German turntable, with a superb tonearm!
Item Description
The Thorens 160 Super is a very rare and highly-regarded high-fidelity Swiss/German turntable, with a stellar reputation for its stability, wide soundstage, and transparent sound. Due to the precision of the Swiss/German engineering in the construction of this turntable, rumble and ambient noise is ultra-low, leading to a more pure listening experience. The Super builds on the preceding Thorens 160 by offering a lower noise floor, among other improvements. Moreover, besides its phenomenal sound, the 160 Super is a stunning unit, with a classic vintage look. Don’t miss this highly rare turntable!
The Linn Ittok LVII is a flagship model tonearm from Linn from the 1980s. It has a straight arm tube and was designed to match the performance of the highly-regarded Sondeck LP12 turntable. It features extremely high stability by virtue of its coherent mechanical system which ensures precise alignment between the cartridge and turntable. It has an advanced bearing system which delivers excellent dynamic accuracy. The Ittok is easy to calibrate as well, with simple dials for weight and bias force. The tonearm makes a fabulous match to this Thorens 160 Super.
The turntable and tonearm are in very good condition, though they show some natural signs of age and use, including some scratches (please see photos). The dust cover also has some scratches on its surface (please see dust cover policy below). This turntable has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation. Both 33 and 45 settings work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork.
