The Mojotone Music Man® Clone 2 band EQ bass preamp is a perfect replica of the original 2 band pre-Ernie Ball® circuit with the original LM4250CN ic chip. We even had the potentiometers custom made to have the exact same taper and values as the originals, including the reverse audio 1M pot. Absolutely NO corners were cut which makes ours the truest clone on the market today. This is a direct replacement for original Ernie Ball and reissue basses with 4 control knobs.
The 4 knob version utilizes an extra push pull pot that acts as a presence cut when rolled back to help tame the attack. It also functions as a push-pull switch for coil tapping or series/parallel configurations (depends on how you want to wire the pickup to the push-pull switch). Series/parallel gives you the ability to run the pickup in original parallel mode or switch to series for a fuller humbucker tone. If you choose to wire the switch for coil tapping, you can get a true single coil tone like a Jazz bass. The push-pull pot has no affect on the sound or functionality of the 2-band circuit when fully engaged.
