Selling my 1984 Simmons SDS-6 vintage drum sequencer in excellent condition. I don't have to mention how rare this is, but I will. It is a US Voltage unit (117volts), so no converter required.

ABOUT THE SDS-6:
Simmons released about 100 of these units in the mid-80's as a way to program the Simmons drum brains. The SDS-6 can be used to trigger any drum synth (Tama TS series, Pearl Syncussion, Claptrap, etc.). This is one of the later ones, with factory MIDI and MIDI sync, which is also very rare. This is serial #82.

FUNCTIONALITY: Fully serviced last year by The Simmons Guy, who is well-known in the Simmons drum community. It has a new battery and all the big stuff in the PSU has been replaced (his words, not mine). He included a video before selling it to me, which is included below. I have tested it out and everything appears to function as it should with my SDS-V.

APPEARANCE:
The physical appearance is extremely clean. This is a collector's quality unit. The face is practically flawless with some small marks here and there. Side panels can accept rack ears if you are so inclined. See photos for exact physical description.

INCLUDED:
Included is the SDS-6 and power cord. Manual is available online. Rare chance to acquire one of the rarest drum sequencers on the planet.

Overall, a very nice and clean SDS-6 in perfect working condition. Will be packed carefully and shipped promptly with full insurance. Ships to the lower 48 states. I prefer local pickup for such a large, fragile item, but due to PayPal restrictions, I will only accept cash or wire transfer for local pickup.

DISCLAIMER: If an item I am selling is broken, I will get it repaired first, and/or list it as actually broken or for parts. Please review my feedback and you will see I am very particular about what I sell and how I pack things. This is a vintage item that is decades old. During shipping, dust can move around within sealed pots and may result in some pots "crackling" when first used. There are no noticeable crackly pots but should they occur as a result of shipping, turning them a few times should resolve it. If not, a light spray of DeOxit FaderLube will most certainly do the trick. Shipping a vintage item means that things can shift and connections between chips and sockets can shift and it is possible that servicing may be required after arrival. Many chips and components are very rare and difficult to source, and can easily be swapped out with faulty components. As such, I do not accept returns on vintage gear. As far as guitars and basses, I have a lot of experience shipping them and typically double-box the case, protect the fretboard from wear, and slightly detune to ensure it is well protected on its way to your door.

ABOUT ANALOG KALAMAZOO:
For the past 25 years (when I haven't been making music) I have spent my spare time scouring the Internet and pawnshops around the world collecting, repairing, and maintaining only the most pristine examples of each piece of gear I could find. I have driven (and flown) many miles to find the best examples for my collection. My interests include vintage synthesizers, drum machines, effects, guitars, and basses, with a focus on the "golden era" for each category. Each piece has been meticulously maintained, serviced, and used in my air conditioned, non-smoking, fully functioning recording studio. I have recently decided to downsize and streamline my studio by selling off key pieces of gear, some of which are nearly unobtainable in such pristine, fully-functioning condition. I have been buying and selling gear since the mid-90's, with a 100% feedback rating on the main auction sites. I pride myself on my packaging skills and have received positive feedback for the same.
