1990s BC Rich Mockingbird PJ Medium Scale Electric Bass Guitar White Japan

Up for sale, a 1990's B.C. Rich Mockingbird Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few basses make a statement quite like a B.C. Rich, and this sleek Mockingbird is sure to impress the flock. Made in Japan, this medium scale bass is a quality build rarely seen outside its country of origin, featuring a maple body, Stratabond neck, and ebony fingerboard. The stock Gotoh-made PJ pickup configuration offers both the ample thump and power of a split coil Precision neck pickup and the midrange cut and grind of a Jazz pickup at the bridge. Weighing 9lbs, this bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with a fresh set of 45-100 roundwound strings.

The Stratabond neck has a slender C shaped carve at the nut, offering easy playability in every register and more shoulder and heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .915” at the 12th. The slab ebony fretboard features dot inlay and flawless stock jumbo frets that retain their full factory height with well rounded crowns. The bass plays effortlessly up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 32.5”, and the nut measures 1 9/16“ in width. The peghead features a white B.C. Rich logo and black set of B.C. Rich-branded tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

On the body, the electronics function as intended, with dedicated Volume knobs for each pickup, a Master tone knob, and three-way pickup selector toggle. The heavy-duty top-loader Gotoh bridge is intact, as is the trio of original black knurled knobs. The clear coat on the gloss White finish has lightly yellowed, as evidenced by faint sticker tan lines on the top and back of the body. Cosmetic wear is limited to minor finish chipping along the lower bout body edge, with scattered light marks mostly relegated to the edges of the body and treble side horn. The neck profile sports a smooth satin finish with a few faint marks central to the carve behind frets 6-9 that are not distracting to the palm.
