These Casio SK-8 keyboards are rare to begin with but even more rare with circuit bent modifications. I rarely find them so I've only modified about a dozen or so over the years. They have 4 sample pads and retain samples until the power is disrupted. Incredibly fun and easy to play.
If you want to truly enjoy the benefits of a circuit bent instrument, the Casio sampling keyboards are the most versatile, usable, inspirational creative stations in the genre.
I've added an LTC1799 pitch oscillator circuit that offers several octaves of range over the pitch of both the onboard sounds and samples. This pitch control can be operated with either the knob or opto control that gives theremin type of controlling.
I've added 12 glitch switches that add strange modulations, computer brain waves, insect sounds, strange drum beats, chaotic bass, syncopated rhythms, flanging, echo, looping, the effects go on and on for truly incredible combinations only limited by your imagination.
I've added a soft reset button as well.
All keys and buttons are nicely in place, this keyboard is in great condition.
I've also chosen to leave the onboard speaker intact so you can use it on the go or anywhere you'd rather not drag your amplifier, a huge convenience factor and have added a closed circuit 1/4" output jack so you can connect to your amp, pa, etc, the onboard speaker is muted when you plug in a standard cable.
You'll enjoy creating tons of new compositions with this if you're into experimental, dreamy, robot, computer rock soundscapes and ambient drone not to mention beautiful soundscapes as well, virtually whatever you're into.
This is a very smooth soundscape creator that fully retains all of the incredible SK-8 original features.
Due to the nature of circuit bending and the fact this is a sampling keyboard the possibilities are limitless.
