Yamaha MU50 "tone generator" unit. They originally built these to connect to computers as a sort of deluxe sound card, but nowadays you can just hook a MIDI keyboard or sequencer (or USB MIDI interface) up and go to town.
Supports XG which makes the voices modifiable like standard synth patches, ie you can adjust the envelope, effects, etc. A super-deep synth with a lot of 90s appeal.
Comes with the original manual as your guide for deep menu dives.
