Formanta EMS-01 Polivoks Monster Synthesizer Organ pedal 110/220 Volts MIDI MOOD 1990

The FORMANTA EMS-01 is an electronic musical instrument that combines a polyphonic organ and a monophonic synthesizer. It was produced by the Kachkanar Radio Plant "Formanta", which is the manufacturer of such well-known brands of synthesizers as Polivoks, Formanta, Maestro, etc. It has the same logo on the packaging and retains some of its most impressive features. It is designed to perform music of all genres and create various sound effects for film and theater soundtracks or studio recording. The organ has a 5-octave keyboard, 6 preset sound tones, frequency vibrato with adjustable vibrato delay, decay control and a stereo phaser (for both organ and synthesizer). The "vibrato-delay" circuit is activated again only after all previously pressed keys have been released. In legato mode, the vibrato delay circuit is not activated.

The synthesizer has:
- 3 octave keyboard;
- modulator, the modulation voltage from which is supplied to the frequency modulator, width modulator, filter and amplifier;
- broadband generators 1 and 2 (with different waveforms);
- a mixer designed to sum the signals from generators 1 and 2, noise generator, external source and ring modulator;
- a filter designed for dynamic and static change in the spectrum of the summed signal from the mixer output;
- an amplifier designed to create a sound corresponding to various parameters of the envelope;

The body has:
- 5-octave keyboard;
- 6 signals;
- Vibrato frequency with speed, depth and delay
- Stereo Phaser (both organ and synthesizer) with sharpening level
- Sustain level

The visual division of the synthesizer panel into the above sections and their location facilitate orientation when setting the desired tone.

The instrument provides the ability to connect stereo headphones; the volume in the headphones does not change when the volume of the instrument is changed from zero to maximum at all outputs of the instrument with a foot pedal; this makes it possible to pre-monitor the tone through the headphones before feeding it to the amplifiers. By plugging PHASER into an organ or synthesizer channel, you can get stereo sound from the STEREO L and STEREO P outputs. When PHASER is turned off, both channels will operate in MONO mode.
You can connect external audio sources (such as guitars, electric pianos, and electric organs) to the synthesizer. The sounds of different external sources are combined in the mixer separately in any ratio. The synthesizer has a filter with cutoff frequency adjustment for changing the tone color of the audible signal over a wide range.

FORMANTA EMS-01 is one of the most powerful and impressive vintage Soviet synthesizers. It has an inimitable peculiar sound and very filters and effects. Fat, juicy and very analog sound with a unique architecture of Soviet components; in addition, highly reliable military technologies were used in the production process.
