About This Listing

Here we have a very early and probably prototype Reference 13 x 6.5 snare drum.

This snare formed what would become the early Reference snare recipe with a 6 lug spec that was later changed to an 8 lug. This 6 lug spec is really interesting allowing the drum to be tuned lower and fatter. It gives a great feel too with bags of dig.

Condition wise this snare is in excellent condition. Unlike the finalised production model it comes with the CL65 bridge lugs.
