Colin’s NS-2 is the only bolt-on instrument in the collection, and for good reasons. This instrument includes two separate necks, one fretted & one fretless, that can be swapped out according to the needs of the player. Each neck features threaded brass inserts, making it safe and easy to remove and install each neck. This NS-2 Bolt-On features a mahogany body with a stunning quilted maple top, each neck is crafted from three-piece maple and feature an ebony fingerboard and a 34” scale length. For electronics, this bass features Aguilar Super Double pickups pickup paired with an active Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. This instrument also features a striking Black & White stain, a durable matte finish, and black hardware.

 

“I wanted to try a fretless/fretted bolt on bass. I always thought it was a cool option, and to my knowledge, it’s something that Spector hadn’t done before. The body has metal inserts for the neck bolts to prevent stripping out the wood during neck swaps. The necks have alternating black to white/white to black fades, to help set them apart. Always liked the sound of the Aguilar Super Doubles, and paired them with an OBP-3 preamp, so the player can tweak the midrange, especially for the fretless sound.” - Colin Almquist
