This is Dave Mustaine's personally owned Dean USA Custom Shop Prototype V that formed the basis for his entire signature line of guitars from Dean Guitars for the past 13 years! This guitar has just been featured in Guitar World, the largest guitar magazine on the planet! It has also been featured in multiple news outlets around the world like Metal Injection and Blabbermouth! As an original member of Metallica and the founding frontman of Megadeth: Dave Mustaine is platinum selling, Grammy Award winning, Heavy Metal Royalty of legendary proportions! This is the one that started it all! There can be only one, and you're looking at it. This is the Dean prototype V that evolved from his original Jackson King V KV1 and ESP DV8 when Dave decided to leave ESP for a more permanent home to continue the Megadeth legacy. This guitar marks the beginning of 13 years of his signature guitar legacy that has seen thousands of guitarists around the world buy his Dean signature model. You can see the working name was DMV on the back of the headstock that was revised to become the VMNT! According to Backstage Auctions, this guitar was accidentally sent to them but was meant to be saved for Dave's son as the most important item in Dave's collection, so it was sent back to Dave at Dave's request. It is amazing that he later decided to make this available to the general public!

Mustaine's songs can be heard in Hollywood blockbuster movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger to the biggest video games of all time like Grand Theft Auto and Guitar Hero! Mustaine designed this amazing evolution of the Jackson King V himself...this is a killer display piece that is at the same time capable of making Grammy award winning music! Rolling Stone magazine interviewed Dave Mustaine about our studio buying his guitars, and his response was that he thought it was great. He offered to sign his guitars in person, so I took him up on that offer. Our studio brought his entire collection to Wembley Arena in London on January 31st 2020 for their show with Five Finger Death Punch. Dave signed every guitar including this one.
